Production Welding Specialist
Course Description
The Production Welding Specialist course is designed to produce graduates able to secure employment opportunities in the manufacturing, metal fabrication, or maintenance & repair industries. The course will focus its instruction on the 2 most common manual welding processes used in these fields: Gas Metal Arc & Flux Cored Arc Welding. Among other program subjects are: welding shop safety, weld symbols & blueprint reading, weld repair, geometric design & tolerances, and weld procedure & welder performance qualification, just to name a few. This welding skill intensive course offers 270 hours of welding shop instruction and 30 hours of interactive classroom training & discussion. In addition a student will be instructed in the 30 Hour General Industry Safety Course. Once the course has been completed, graduates will be set on a career track to become an accomplished welder able to seek high wage, long term employment opportunities in all 50 states and in many countries of the world.
The Montgomery G.I. Bill - National Pipe Trades is approved by the State of Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs State Approving Agency to offer benefits for the Production Welding Specilist course.
